Jokes jokes. She's not that old yet. But really, I hope you're having a good day and aren't working too hard, but instead are doing something nice for yourself like making slaves of your children or playing jokes on them, all of which could equal a solid day.
I love the American stereotypes. Take a moment to think about them, how do others view us? If your responses were anything like ours than they were all pretty negative. Loud, unaware of the rest of the world, ignorant, wasteful, cowboys, etc. Apparently the first two are true stereotypes, and from my experience actually are less stereotype and more true. But we're also seen as very polite, and caring to the point that we freak the Irish out a bit. I told someone to have a good day, and they gave me this quizzical look and I realized no one has ever said that to me. They think we're being insincere and in some strange way rude. Also, we're known to be optimistic about life, where as the Irish are generally sure that nothing good is going to come of anything. They won't get the job, the girl, blahblahblah. Pessimists.
I had my first day of class today. Americans are also known to be very good at presentations and debates. My classes consist of these and the profs are very excited for them. Fabulous. Now, I don't mind presentations and debates. But really, the same people are in all of my classes, you can only have knockout drag out debates with the same people so many times before you 1. get really really annoyed with each other 2... no I think 1's it. Which is bad news when you see each other every dang day. I already know who I'm going to want to take a low blow to by the end of the semester. Good thing violence isn't my thing. And by violence I mean confrontation in general. I prefer passive aggressive methods. Like being nice and accepting of the person. Something to totally piss 'em off.
The end. I have homework business to attend to.. dangit.
