Friday.

Sometimes boys are idiots. Complete and total dorks. In class on thursday we were doing a walking tour of Dublin, and we were walking through a poor area of public housing. We stopped to discuss how just across the street from this very poor flat complex is the countries first Starbucks and some very costly apartments. And this kid starts throwing things at us. He doesn't really hit us, and he's pretty far away. But, we're upper-middle class people walking through his yard basically, we clearly don't belong there.. and one of the boys picks up the stuff the kid was throwing and begins to throw it back at him! Uhhhhh... the throwing ability of the 7 vs. 21 year old is a little different. Apparently the mental age doesn't change too much. He would have failed if we were in a sociology or social work class. Control yourself, it is possible.

Yesterday was a good day. I hung out with my roomate Katelyn and the other Katelyn. We went to the Chester Beattie Library which is a collection of texts, and scrolls and Illuminated books. Very cool collection. They had stuff from Japan, India, the Middle East, Europe, and Mexico. The best part was that it was FREE! We then wondered to a photography musuem that changes out its exihibts event every few weeks. The theme was Planes, trains and automobiles. It was good. In true Irish fashion that exhibit was supposed to have ended on the 6th. There's no sign of a new exhibit.
They then headed to the Nat'l Gallery and I went to a coffee shop as I was at the Gallery on Monday. Also, I was starving. I found the best lunch deal in city center. A sandwhich and coffee for 5 euro. I thought it was only black coffee, but I got a latte and it was 5! I'm really excited for this. My sandwhich was 5 euro alone, and the coffee is usually almost 3. It's such a good deal! And the sandwhich was actually really good. So the girls met back up with me there, and we met some other friends for dinner. We found this really trendy restaurant called Dakota. It had a really awesome vibe. I wanted a cocktail so so so bad. I couldn't not however pay 10 euro for one. We then went to a housewarming party for some Trinity kids. I was really hoping to meet some Irish kids. Nope. Americans. It was fun, but we had to leave around 11:30 to make the last train home. I hate living so far away. Most people were just arriving as we were leaving. But I just don't want to pay the almost 30 euro to get a taxi home. Our apartments are so nice, but, just too far away. I was so tired though. I didn't get home until around 1, and I had left my apartment at 11. A very long, but good day.
