Nice, it's pretty great.

Best weekend. Sunshine. Beaches. French people. I'm stupid. Rainbows. Andrea. Miami. Good food.

These are just somethings to describe my weekend. It was wonderful. Monica and I left at 12am friday to catch a bus to the airport. Our plan was to sleep at the airport, but apparently the rest of Dublin had that same idea, and all the chairs were taken except some bar stools. We got on our flight at 6am. Ryan Air is the most ghetto thing you will ever experience. We lined up to get on the flight, walked onto the tarmak and onto the flight were it was just a freeforall to find seats. There's no netting on the seat infront of you to hold anything, no leg room, and all your saftey info is infront of you, just in case. You have to pay for drinks, even tea. But we got there. And somehow between the flight and our hostel I LOST MY IPOD. AHHHHHHHH. I'm so pissed at myself. I can't explain the frustration I'm feeling. I just wish I could get away from myself for a few minutes.. but, I decided to not let that affect our trip at all. We met Andrea at the airport, and headed to our hostel up in the hills.

It was really far away. But we managed to find it. It was beautiful. We were in a room with six other people. 3 boys from the states studying in Belgium, 2 girls from Canada traveling for a month, and an Aussie. We went up to Eze the first day which is an old, really cool city on a hill. All the little doors and passage ways are still there. It would have been so strange to live in a place like that. I wanted to know where all the doors went, but they're all locked. We then caught a bus to Monaco. The bus dropped us off somewhere.. and we had to find our way to Monaco and by the time that happened it was time to catch the last bus back or be there for 3 more hours. I was about to pass out at this time, as I had not slept the night before. We had some delicious pizza in old nice and headed back to the hostel for some glorious sleep after being awake 40 hours straight.

The next morning we headed out to Cannes. So pretty. We sat on the beach for most of the day. Soaking up the water, beautiful weather, and crazy old women without tops on. We tried to find the red carpet they leave out for the festival, but something was being set up and we couldn't find it. Back in Nice we had dinner, an italian dinner and wine, complete with chocolate mousse. SO SO GOOD! And while it was not cheap, it was cheaper than we could have had it in Dublin. Sitting out in the square, OUTSIDE! All our meals were consumed outside this weekend. In beautiful weather. No rain. Not once. Not Dublin, for sure. The next day it was back to Dublin, where we were met with rain, intense wind, and a double rainbow. There was also a rainbow when I got here in September, so I think it's the city welcoming me home ;)

It was super great to see Andrea, while I went all summer without seeing her, or talking to her much, this month and a half between now and London seemed soooo long. And I get to see her in two weeks. Which is super exciting. Actually I will see her every two weeks until December. Haha.

Karlene -- such a wonderful trip. Too bad about your ipod -- that is sadness. Glad you reconnected with Andrea and had a blast.
