As you can tell I have a new layout. I'm not in Ireland anymore. But, Ireland is still cooler than your mom. Keep that in mind.
I think we should start off this blog with some football talk. I'm not sure if you noticed, but TCU was in a bowl game this week. The Poinsettia Bowl to be exact. IT was held in San Diego and we played Boise State. Now, if you taped the game and somehow have missed the ending to it. I suggest you close this screen right now, because I'm about to ruin it for you.
There were 44,000 people at the football game. I would guess that 43,400 of them were there for Boise. TCU fans were a little puddle of purple in an ocean of orange. Speaking of colors, people think TCU is ridiculous for having purple as a color and a horned frog as a mascot. But, lets talk about Boise's mascot and colors. Orange and Blue and their mascot is a Bronco. Remind you of another football team at all? Creative ones in Idaho (No u da hoe) I had to. Anyway, I was proud of the Purple represented at the game, it's a long way from Texas, close to Christmas.
Mark and I had fun. The TCU section had free shirts, pom-poms and noise makers on every chair. There's nothing like being at a sporting event. The atmosphere is just amazing. I can't imagine this game was even half as awesome on TV. We were throwing our pom-poms, yelling at the boys, cheering, high fiving, hugging and so was everyone around us. You may be surrounded by a bunch of strangers, but for a few hours there's the odd sense of unity. These people are in this with you (or against you) and emotions are high. There was nothing in it for me, I don't gamble, only the pride of watching my school do well. It felt so good to ruin their undefeated season and watch the orange stream out of the stadium in the last 2 minutes. It was an awesome game, full of dumb plays, awesome plays, mistakes, and mistakes that allowed us to win (missing a field goal?)! That was my last football game as a college student. What the... I'm getting so old.
