Mind the gap

Andrea and I had our first day in London today. We really didn't do much, we have five more days here, so we can take our time. We went to Westminster Abbey, Trelfeger square, a cool park and parliment. And then around 5 we took a nap. It was wonderful. Our hostel is in Kensington and is nice.

I've decided however, that the undergound is not. When we got on at the airport it took us almost an hour to go 9 stops. We had to exit the train because it broke. We then went to the other airport where andrea was storing her bags, then later the power went out in the train we were on, and it was one hot gross experiance.

I like London thus far. I do like that the underground makes it easier to get places, despite the delays. Five days seems like a long time more here.. probably because we were in airports and the underground for 4 hours today before we saw the city.

I'm going to bed.

Hi Karlene -- I can picture how cool it is to be in London right now. So envious that you are there -- so live for us all! Love you.

Karleney Weenie,

I am so excited to start hearing about your trip. You don't worry - all of Europe is going to LOVE you just like we do. And they all don't think Americans are freaks - I've found that most of them really like us once they get to know us. Write more about the hostel. I've only traveled abroad on business so I fortunately have stayed in very nice hotels - never had the hostel experience. Do tell!

so for a sec i thought you misspelled "hotel" and then i realized you meant "hostel". then the next step was, "oh, my gosh! karlene's in a hostel! hope it's not like the one in that horror movie". here's to hoping you (and andrea) are safe. :)
